Democratic Gubernatorial Nominee Will Hold Press Conference at Minute Maid Park to Unveil Environmental Policy

Democratic gubernatorial nominee and former U.S. Congressman Chris Bell will be in Houston on Tuesday, July 18, for a stop on his week-long statewide press tour. Bell will hold a 2:00 pm press conference at Minute Maid Park in downtown Houston to announce his campaign's environmental platform.

Chris Mooney: “The War on Science” – 7:00PM – Thursday, June 22 Chris Mooney, author of the bestselling “The Republican War on Science,” will present an evening lecture exposing the religious right’s dangerous assaults on science. Come hear how you can help counter attacks against stem cell research, evolution and sex education. This event is sponsored by the Texas Freedom Network (www.tfn.org) and is free and open to the public. Mooney’s lecture begins at 7:00 pm at Emerson Unitarian Church (1900 Bering Drive). Science has never been more crucial to deciding the political issues facing the country. On a broad array of issues, however, science and scientists have never had less influence with the federal government than today.
