Dearest beloveds,

For Pete’s sake, don’t circulate this outside of
the SC and give some thought to who exactly should participate in this
discussion tomorrow, if we have a location.

The stuff in yellow and red are my ideas/contribution. I do
not mind it getting knocked out or replaced with other stuff. Since so many key
members cannot come, please look this over and send some of your own thoughts,
trying to organize them in this outline form so we can discuss them in an
orderly way.

Here’s the thing about iterative planning:

It changes a lot over time and finally very fast. As a
lightweight outfit we can do this well. The state party is groaning under the
weight of tending a patronage-chain and doing everything “the way we have
always done it”, to quote the Cardinal-Archbishop. Seriously, the folks
on the SDEC trying to do a good job, possibly ever single one of them, are just
drowning trying to perpetuate almost every legacy of our Jim Crow past.

In the movie, Tora, Tora, Tora!, there is a scene w/
Adm. YAMAMOTO and his Captains from the Combined Fleet having a meeting on the
deck of the Yamoto prior to the raid.

Think of Charlie as the Admiral and me as LtCdr Genda who
did not say a thing. Think of yourself as standing up and expressing your
concerns with respect taken and given for all.

Oh, and let’s not do something as stupid and the
Japanese – starting a war they could not possibly finish.

YAMAMOTO opposed the whole damn scheme to start a war with
the US.

My objective is a strong, revitalized party that can compete
effectively with a domineering and radical GOP that is leading the state and
nation into catastrophe with essentially no effective opposition at any echelon
of government -- none.
